18 Months Old

Well, we survived Thanksgiving and now it is on to Christmas. Drew had his 18 month checkup Monday and he is a whopping 34 pounds and 35.5 inches long. He is doing great. We are going to have to start disciplining him more...When I tell him "NO" and pop him on the leg, he will proceed to tell me NO and try to hit me! Don't you just love toddlers. He has 9 teeth, with 5 of them just coming 2 weeks ago. He is running around everywhere and has a new obsession with Elmo. He is just now becoming picky with his food so maybe his weight gain will taper off. I am posting some pictures from the local city hall where we put Drew in a sleigh by the Christmas tree. Also, you can go to http://www.somethingbeautifulstudio.com/ and click on client proofing, type in clarksanta for the password to see his christmas shoot! Hope you all enjoy the Holidays!

Going to the allergist

We took Drew to the allergist to check on his milk allergy. They always check his blood pressure. He hasn't gotten upset, but he is not real sure what's going on!

SUMMER IS WINDING DOWN...

WOW....What a summer it has been for the Clark's. We started out Memorial Day Weekend with a trip to Panama City Beach, FL. Then it was off to the bluegrass state of Kentucky. A week later Chris and I went to San Antonio, TX for an Athletic Trainer Conference. This was the first time we had ever been away from Drew. We met Chris' sister and mom in Nashville, and they took Drew with them to Kentucky. Chris and I flew in and out of Nashville. We picked Drew up on our way back home. We were so glad to see him! His Paw Paw Clark brought him in the airport so we could see him on our way down the escalators. Of course he was too busy watching all of the luggage at baggage claim to worry about seeing his mom and dad! He had his first real haircut while on his visit! He officially looks like a little boy. Then came the month of July. We went back to Panama City for the 4th of July with my mom, dad, Wendy and her family. Drew had a great time and was really getting used to the sand by this time. 2 weeks later Chris and I decided that we won't have a chance to go back to KY to visit his family until the holiday's so off we go again to KY. Drew is starting to get tired of being in the car at this point! But he is a trooper. Next it was our last official vacation at the beach. Chris, Drew and myself went to Gulf Shores with my parents. That was the first time I had ever been to Gulf Shores and we really loved it. Now school starts back in a week. Can't believe summer is almost over! I will miss my little guy when I have to go back to work! I have posted some pictures from all of our many trips!

12 month checkup

We took Drew to the Dr. today for his 2 month checkup. He weighed in at a whopping 29.5 pounds and 31 1/2 inches long. He has a milk allergy but other than that he is a healthy boy! He got a chicken pox vaccine and a Hepatis A vaccine. MMR will be at 15 months.
His bottle days are over. We will attempt to ween him off starting tomorrow.

What is Drew up to these days...

I got an idea from another friend who has a blog for their son. I wanted to just list a few things Drew is doing now. He is growing up so fast!
1. He is standing alone and has great balance. He can hold things, eat puffs, and drink while standing.
2. He has taken 4 steps at a time consecutively throughout the day. He is a little shaky and is better at this when he has his cute New Balance shoes on.
3. He has a few food allergies that we are watching pretty closely. He is not doing well with foods that have milk, especially cultured milk. however, he can eat a puff like it is nobody's business!
4. He loves to sit in his highchair and play with a spoon.
5. He is getting better at drinking from a sippy cup.
6. He can say "mama" and he babbles a lot.
7. He is learning to wave bye.
8. He LOVES his walker. He goes so fast.
9. His new favorite thing to do is ride around in his poppie and maw maw's golf cart. He will hit the steering wheel when they stop. We think this means "GO!"
10. He likes dogs and will laugh hysterically when they bark.
11. Bathtime is one of his favorite activities during the day.
12. He still takes two naps: one in the morning and one in the afternnon.
13. He goes to bed by 7:00 pm and doesn't wake up until 7:00 the next morning. Sometimes 6:30.
14. When we walk at the track he will try to "talk" to the baseball players sometimes. They think that is funny.
15. He is just now experiencing seperation anxiety and cries when we leave him.
16. He still doesn't have a tooth.

That's all for now, but I will keep you posted!

Supporting the Troops

The following pictures of Drew are from a welcome home party at church for a friend who had been in Iraq. Drew is 10 months old in the pictures and we think he weighs roughly 28 pounds. This party was in the church gym so his dad did not hesitate at all to get a basketball and shoot some hoops with Drew!
